The Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice offers undergraduate- and graduate-level programs and courses. The department is recognized nationally and internationally as a prominent center for research, scholarship, and teaching on core issues related to crime and justice. Departmental faculty expertise includes interdisciplinary, international expertise in the advancement of knowledge concerning the etiology, consequences, prevention, and control of crime and delinquency.
As part of the Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs, departmental faculty scholarship contributes to the school's eight strategic research themes: Migration, Diaspora, and Transient Communities; Poverty, Health, and Global Inequalities; Economic Development, Sustainability, and Environment; Religion, Society, and Interfaith Engagement; Nationalism, Identity, and Language; Human Rights and Democratization; Security, Foreign Policy, and Governance; and Historical Inquiry, Memory, and Reconciliation.
