The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) offers undergraduate- and graduate-level programs and courses in electrical engineering, computer engineering, and associated subfields. Areas of study offered by the ECE department include: Artificial Intelligence (AI); applied AI and the internet-of-things; robotics, controls, and intelligent autonomous systems; quantum engineering; cybersecurity; nuclear engineering; semiconductors; nanotechnology; power/energy, RF/microwave/wireless communication; embedded systems; and entrepreneurship.
Faculty research interests include cybersecurity, defense communications, energy systems, energy resources and the electric power grid, nuclear security, universal radio platforms, sustainable technology, unmanned aircraft system security, and wireless communication. Faculty receive honors for their teaching excellence in student mentoring and learning, as well as sponsored training grants for developing educational pipelines.
