The Lee Caplin School of Journalism and Media offers undergraduate- and graduate-level programs and courses in the areas of journalism, broadcasting, digital TV and game/animation development. Undergraduate majors include: Animation Media, Digital Broadcast Journalism, Digital and Interactive Media, Digital Journalism, Digital TV and Multimedia Production, Game Media, and Sports Media. The school offers professional, hands-on programs that train the next generation of journalists, broadcasters, and digital professionals for successful careers in media.

The school's faculty members bring significant professional experience in journalism, broadcasting and digital media, and include individuals who have worked with national and international media organizations like CNN, The New York Times, Univision, and Telemundo; local media organizations like The Miami Herald, The Sun-Sentinel, and Miami New Times; and local FOX, NBC and Univision affiliates. These distinguished faculty teach students to think critically, write professionally, and incorporate the most up-to-date technologies needed to produce compelling broadcast and multiplatform journalism in the 21st century. Faculty members are engaged in scholarly research and creative activities in the areas of climate change, social media, media law and ethics, and international media.
