Program Title
The Master of Architecture (MArch) is a professional, STEM-designated degree accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB). Based on an applicant's baccalaureate degree field of study, the MArch can be earned via a 2-year or 3-year pathway. It prepares students for professional practice in architecture through six focus areas: architectural design; history/theory; building technologies; digital technologies; ethics and professional business practice; and general education. A laboratory for the study of architecture and urbanism in the context of rapid growth, Miami provides opportunities to explore environmental challenges, historic structures, and contemporary works by the world’s leading practices. The program takes advantage of Miami’s geographic location as one of the principal academic and economic gateways to the Global South and Europe.
The Department of Architecture also offers an Accelerated Master of Architecture for undergraduate students to complete the MArch in a 5-year or 6-year accelerated format. Information on that alternative can be found as the Accelerated Master of Architecture on the catalog program list. For more information, visit the College of Communication, Architecture, and the Arts website.
