MA - Master of Arts

Program Title

Global and Sociocultural Studies

The Master of Arts (MA) in Global and Sociocultural Studies offers a unique opportunity to advance one’s research skills and theoretical training in the disciplinary approaches of anthropology, geography, and sociology. The program provides training opportunities in applied methods for social research widely used in public and private sectors, including Geographic Information Systems (GIS) analysis, survey research, and a wide range of quantitative and qualitative research skills. Students gain a strong grounding in social science theories that are the foundations of all three of our disciplines. Additionally, students can take elective classes in our focal themes, Identities and Inequalities, Migration and Diasporas, and Nature-Society. For more information, visit the Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs website.
