Program Title
The Undergraduate Certificate in Health Humanities provides a curricular structure through which humanities, social science, public health, nursing, pre-med and pre-health professions majors may study medical and health related issues from interdisciplinary perspectives. Students will study health, medicine, and healing in humanities, based on courses already offered in English, Global and Sociocultural Studies, History, The Honors College, Liberal Studies, Philosophy, and Psychology. Students who earn the certificate will develop research and analytical skills, acquire expertise in communicating with diverse populations, and concretize career pathways in professions associated with health humanities and health care. The Certificate in Health Humanities is ideal not only for students who plan to pursue careers in public health, nursing, and medicine, but also for students interested in studying health concerns from historical, literary, anthropological, and other humanities-based perspectives. Admission to this program is limited to degree-seeking students only. For more information, visit the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education website.
