Program Title
The Master of Public Health (MPH) degree prepares students to become effective public health practitioners, researchers and educators. Students select one of nine majors (concentration areas): Biostatistics; Brain, Behavior and Environment; Environmental Health Sciences; Epidemiology; Infectious Disease Epidemiology; Global Health; Health Promotion and Disease Prevention; Maternal and Child Health or Generalist On-Line. In addition to mastering foundational public health knowledge and competencies in evidence-based approaches to public health, public health and health care systems, planning and management to promote health, policy in public health, leadership, communication, interprofessional practice and systems thinking, required of all majors, students attain competencies specific to their chosen major (concentration). In addition, we offer MPH combined with other degrees: MD/MPH in Epidemiology, Master of Social Work (MSW)/ MPH in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention; , MSW/MPH in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention (HPDP) with MSW Advanced Standing Status, MSW/MPH Generalist with MSW Clinical as well as Advanced Standing, and MBA/MPH Generalist Online. Furthermore, there are Accelerated 4+1 Degree Pathways with most of the MPH majors for which undergraduate students may apply. For more information, visit the website.
