Religious Studies/SIPA

The Department of Religious Studies offers undergraduate-level and graduate-level programs and courses in religions (e.g., Native American and African Religions, Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism, Judaism, Islam, Christianity) and thematic areas (e.g., peace and conflict, environment, development, migration, health, new religious movements, religious memorialization).

As part of the Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs, departmental faculty scholarship contributes to the school's eight strategic research themes: Migration, Diaspora, and Transient Communities; Poverty, Health, and Global Inequalities; Economic Development, Sustainability, and Environment; Religion, Society, and Interfaith Engagement; Nationalism, Identity, and Language; Human Rights and Democratization; Security, Foreign Policy, and Governance; and Historical Inquiry, Memory, and Reconciliation.
