Biological Sciences

The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biological Sciences provides students with a foundation of knowledge and skills in diverse areas of biology, including ecology, genetics, molecular and cell biology, evolution, organismal diversity, and physiology/biochemistry. This degree is ideal for students who plan to pursue graduate studies and careers in botany, zoology, ecology, molecular and cellular biology, biomedical research, healthcare, natural resource management and nonprofits, or forensic science.

Available areas for specialization include Tracks in Biotechnology, Forensic Biomolecular Biology, and Quantifying Biology in the Classroom (QBIC), and Biological Sciences with Honors. There is also a major in Biology Education FIU Teach). Pre-health curricula and advising for students planning to go into healthcare-related careers is also available.
