Graduation Requirements 

To be eligible for a Master’s degree, a student must: 

1.           Satisfy all university requirements for a master’s degree (minimum 30 graduate credits);  

2.           Satisfy any required prerequisites;  

3.          Complete required courses in the enrolled graduate program;  

4.           Earn a minimum average of “B” (3.0) in all approved courses in the student’s approved course of graduate study.  

Grades below “C” will not be counted toward the master’s degree program. 

Completion requirement
Complete ALL of the following Courses:

Students must complete 1 credit of course ISS6959 Independent Project each semester of enrollment until the project is completed and at least three credits have been earned.

Complete ALL of the following Courses:

Economics course most relevant to the student’s career objectives (Adam Smith Center approval required). Students who require an introductory background in Economics will be enrolled in an appropriate graduate level course.

Earn at least 3 credits

Admission Requirements 

To be eligible for admission to the program, students must:   

 1.      Hold a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university.  

2.      Have a GPA of 3.0 (on a 4-point scale) established through overall undergraduate degree GPA or the last 60 credits of the degree GPA; or have earned a graduate degree with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA.  

3.      Provide two letters of recommendation from professional supervisors and/or former faculty instructor that attest to the applicant’s educational background, motivation, and analytical skills.  

4.      Provide personal statements regarding their motivation to attend the program, personal and career goals, and contributions that they will bring to their colleagues and fellow students.  

5.      Complete an interview with one of the faculty advisors or the director of the program.  

6.      Demonstrate proficiency in the English language per Florida International University’s Graduate Admission requirements when applicant's studies were completed outside of the United States.

7.      Be in good standing at all previously attended colleges and universities. 

Admissions at the graduate level are competitive and meeting the minimum program requirements does not guarantee admission.  

There are no majors associated with this program.

There are no tracks, specializations, concentrations, areas of emphasis, or other curricular offerings associated with this program.
