Program Title

Graduate Certificate in National Security and Military Law

The National Security and Military Certificate Program seeks to provide graduate-level instruction in the field of National Security and Military Law. Specifically, the Certificate Program will provide law students with in-depth study and training in issues directly related to national security, like the sources of national security powers, the law associated with intelligence collection, proceedings involving classified evidence, the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, and domestic responses to emergencies. The Certificate Program will also allow students to study emerging fields that implicate national security, like artificial intelligence, cyber security, drones, human trafficking, and resource competition. Further, the Certificate Program will provide students with in-depth study on legal issues involving the military, like the American military justice system, the initiation of armed conflict, the use of force within conflict, and the treatment of non-combatants.
