Requirements include a credit minimum of 15 graduate credits, including 6 credits from two required courses, and at least 9 credits from elective courses. In addition, students must earn a GPA of 2.7 over their law school career, as well as a GPA of 3.0 in the courses on the National Security and Military Law course list.

Applicants who are not degree-seeking at Florida International University, can be either enrolled in an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited Juris Doctorate program in good academic standing or have completed the JD Degree at an ABA accredited institution.

Applicants who are enrolled at the Florida International University Juris Doctorate Program, must be in good academic standing.

This certificate is open to both degree-seeking and non degree-seeking students.

Earn a minimum G.P.A. of 3.0 in the following:

The Program Director may approve related courses for credit toward certification requirements from the other departments or schools at FIU, and, for visiting students, may approve equivalent elective courses taken at other accredited institutions.
