Course Description

Basic concepts in sensation and perception are explored, with an emphasis on models of peripheral and central neural processing. Topics such as receptor function, brightness and color vision, movement and object perception, perceptual memory and pattern recognition are considered. Psychophysical techniques, such as subjective magnitude estimation and signal detection theory, are covered. (Lab fees assessed) Prerequisites: PSB 3002 or PSB 3007.
