Academic Progression Requirements
Students admitted to the university are admitted directly to their chosen major. Students are expected to make satisfactory progress based on critical indicators, such as GPA in specific courses or credits earned. In cases where students are not making satisfactory progress, a change of major may be required. Advisors work to redirect students to more appropriate majors when critical indicators are not met.
Mathematics Progression Milestone Requirements
The BS in Behavioral Neuroscience requires MAC 2311 (Calculus I) or MAC2233 (Applied Calculus). Students who do not place into Calculus in their first semester must meet the following progression milestones:
1.Students must enroll in a mathematics course every semester (Fall, Spring, and Summer, if needed) until the program’s mathematics requirement is completed.
2.Students admitted in the Fall or Summer term must successfully complete MAC 1105 with a grade of C or better by the end of their first Spring term.
3.Students admitted in the Spring term must successfully complete MAC 1105 with a grade of C or better by the end of their first Fall term.
4.No more than two attempts of MAC 1105 are permitted. A grade of DR (Drop) counts as an attempt.

Behavioral Neuroscience majors must complete 25 credits of Core and Core Research Sequence courses and 9 credit hours of electives. Students must earn a grade of C or higher in all courses required for the major.

Admissions Requirements for the BS in Behavioral Neuroscience with Honors
Application must be made, and departmental approval granted.
There are no majors associated with this program.
The Bachelor's Degree with Honors is designed for highly motivated students seeking advanced academic and research experiences within the Behavioral Neuroscience major. This option provides rigorous preparation for graduate study and careers in neuroscience, psychology, healthcare, and related fields, which is intended for students demonstrating strong academic performance and interest in research.
Students will undertake an independent research project related to neuroscience, which must be approved by and carried out under the supervision of a full-time faculty member. Upon completion of the project, a satisfactory written thesis and its oral defense of the work must be presented to a faculty committee of at least two members. The Bachelor's Degree with Honors fosters critical thinking, scientific inquiry, and professional communication skills, positioning graduates for success in competitive academic and workforce environments.
